The first tourist beach south of Rhodes Town on the west coast, Ixia has been long established as a resort, though its identity is all but overpowered by the dense surroundings pf huge luxury hotels. Every kind of watersport is available on the long, narrow sand and shingle beach. You may feel trapped between the busy coast road and the offshore flight path to Rhodes airport, but if close-quarters sociability and convenience appeals, then ixia has enough and to spare.

The beach is mainly organized and during the summer season it gets rather windy with large waves, so is suitable for wind surfing and sailing. Ixia also offers spectacular sunsets!
