LEGAL INFORMATION WHEN BUYING VILLAS IN RHODES GREECE
The Greek government are very concerned that the islands do not become over developed as has happened in other destinations and to this end they have laws preventing building density over 5% of land area in the countryside.
This is expected to be reduced to 2% in the near future thus ensuring the islands remain free of intrusive development. This means that in order to build a villa such as the Aphrodite or Athena, it must be placed on a plot of 2,000m2 plus (1/2 acre).
Planning Permissions are in place on all our current developments according to the existing density laws, however future developments may be subject to the expected change in legislation. |
