VILLAS IN RHODES - SITES AND LOCATIONS

asklipo

Asklipio

With a 10 th Century crusader castle perched atop a neighbouring mountain, this private site also boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and sea.

Perfect for those seeking peace and harmony.

Tsambika

Tsambika

The Tsambika area has two attractions: a surprisingly undeveloped beach, and the monastery of Panagia. Tsambika, known also as Kyra, a tiny white building perched on top of a huge cone-shaped hill that towers to a height of 287m above the beach. Tsambika's fine swathe of sand and lack of background buildings are definite pluses, but they ensure the beaches popularity by day and there are water sports available here during the season. The monastery is reached by a concrete road that twists steeply up from the highway, just before the beach access road. You park just beyond the Panoramic Restaurant and finish the journey on foot up winding stone stairs through pine trees. It's a long haul - there are 307 steps, marked at 100 step intervals. The monastery is no more than a tiny chapel and courtyard, but the views are spectacular, and the chapel contains a greatly revered icon of the Annunciation that legend says arrived miraculously and inexplicably form Cyprus.

Psaltos

Lindos. The ancient city-state of Lindos, protected by its strong acropolis, was a major maritime power and experienced a significant cultural growth. Lindos was the birthplace of the wise tyrant Kleoboulos, and was admired for its wealth, beauty and strategic position. During the period of the Knights its fortress was reinforced and its maritime importance continued into the 19th century.

Traditional Lindos, with its white houses, ship-owners' mansions, Byzantine churches, and cobbled narrow lanes, lies at the foot of the rocky acropolis. Taking one of these narrow lanes through the town, or hiring a donkey from the main square, you can ascend the ancient acropolis that stands dominating the village, surrounded by its strong walls. On the town beach, or at Saint Paul's bay, you can relax in the azure sea or join in the water sports. There are numerous shops, restaurants and night-clubs catering for all the visitors.

fanes beach

Fanes

The area is well known for its cultivation of many great wine varieties by small producers, supporting most of the Rhodian wine production. The development boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and sea for those who enjoy an easy going life style.

Pefkos Beach

Pefkos

In many ways the beach resort of Pefkos has become a dormitory suburb of Lindos. The resort developed where only olive groves and a few fishermen's houses once stood. There are now numerous villas and small hotels and attendant taverns, bars and shops. Most are low key and Pefkos is fairly quiet, relative to Rhodes's more frenetic resorts. There is a string of pleasant, sandy beaches along the curve of the sheltered bay on which Pefkos stands.

Pilona

The proposed development at Pilona is within close walking distance to Pilona village. The properties are linked detached, set on 2 stories with 2 bedroom's and 2 bathrooms the villas will be located around a communal swimming pool, BBQ and play area.

Beachfront

This unique beach front project is just a short distance away from the "Butterfly municipality" with fantastic water sports, traditional restaurants and bars offering a wide selection of cocktails. 16km away from the magnificent new and old Rhodes town.

Ixia

Ixia lies at the North West part of Rhodes at a distance of about 7 Km from the city of Rhodes close to Rhodes International Airport. Some of the best hotels in Rhodes can be found here.

The beach is mainly organized and during the summer season it gets rather windy with large waves, so is suitable for wind surfing and sailing. Ixia also offers spectacular sunsets!

Gennadi

Gennadi

Is one vast stone and shingle beach. Much of the land is owned by the church and development has been kept to a minimum as a result. The hotel complexes that have been built stand isolated in a forlorn wilderness of flat scrub. The waters are clear and good for swimming and there is a line of taverns backing the most popular parts of the beach. More secluded spots can be found by strolling south.

Kalathos

With its absolutely breathtaking 180° sea views stretching from Vlicha to Haraki within close walking distance to Kalathos Village perfect for those seeking a quite easy going lifestyle.

Local taverns offering home cooked Greek food.

Only a short drive of 10 minutes takes you to the beautiful ancient city of Lindos, which is home to the Athena temple.

Kiotari

Kiotari

While Kiotari is regarded as the most contemporary and stylish tourist resort on Rhodes, and offers one of the most impressive beaches on the island, it does not yet suffer from the tourist saturation which has marred too many of the other traditional resorts on Rhodes.

In Kiotari you will find large, luxury hotels, a few well-run restaurants and taverns, a shopping centre with more or less anything you need (mini markets, bakeries, patisseries and cash machines) - these are the main features of what is in fact the most contemporary and stylish tourist resort on Rhodes. Kiotari has grown up over the last ten years along an impressive, vast beach, but does not suffer from the same tourist saturation which has negatively affected many of the other traditional resorts of Rhodes.

You will find no real community here, just shops and hotels, most of which operate the all-inclusive system, and thus their guests spend almost the whole of their days within the hotel's facilities and on their private beaches.

Most of the holidaymakers are families or couples, looking for peace and quiet by the sea, although there are a number of local people who come down on summer weekends as well. Even if you are not staying here it is worth stopping for a swim on the superb beach with its damp sand.

Kalavarda

Rhodes, particularly in the south, offers a wealth of undiscovered valleys, villages and beaches and its well worth hiring a car to explore the parts that others haven't yet reached.

A visit to Kalavarda will give you a beautiful sandy beach, a clear inviting sea, lovely scenery, very hospitable people. In contrast to the busy resorts, Kalavarda is the place to come if you want a gentle and relaxing holiday - well known for its magical sunsets and very good fish restaurants.
